In Sri Lanka, Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre is organizing a 50-day prelude to celebrate the upcoming International Day of Yoga. The center aims has already held sessions every day for over a month and will hold a big event on the 21st of June. The sessions have helped promote the practice of yoga and its holistic benefits among people of all ages and backgrounds.
During these Yoga sessions, participants have been engaging in a diverse range of activities that focus on physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The events held so far include a “Yoga for Beginners” workshop, where experienced instructors guided newcomers through the fundamental principles and postures of yoga. To raise awareness about yoga, the center launched a comprehensive campaign featuring interactive sessions, informative workshops, and educational talks. Sessions were also held in Universtities, Yoga centres, colleges and schools across the island. A special session for children was also held on the beach at Colombo recently.
